Mechanical Engineering Department of Utkal Gaurav Madhusudan Institute of Technology (UGMIT), Rayagada is one of the most decorated branch started functioning since 2005 with a intake capacity of 40 students per academic year.

This department is having highly qualified and experienced faculties in different streams of Mechanical Engineering.

This department equipped with advanced laboratories like Material Testing Lab, CNC Lab, Hydraulic Machines and Fluid Power Lab, Refrigeration & Air-Conditioning Lab, Automobile Engineering Lab.

This Department also well equipped with Mechanical Workshop comprising Machine Shop, Welding Shop, Fitting Shop, Sheet Metal Shop, and Carpentry Shop.

The machineries available in the Laboratories and Workshops are not only utilized for learning purpose but also utilized for advanced project work and Internal Revenue Generation (IRG) by the students.

With the above resources this department is able to manage a very good understanding between the administrative level and to the ground student level including parents of students, so as able to produce scholar, professionally sound, confidence in the scope area Diploma in Mechanical Engineering students, who always keeps the flag high of the department not only inside the State & Country but also in Global level.
